A generous and bountiful land

Tarn-et-Garonne is a region where good food and good hospitality are cherished. The fertile valleys, sunny hillsides, and the dedicated work of local producers yield an astonishing variety of fruits, vegetables, and regional specialties. In the markets and on restaurant tables alike, the seasons dictate the rhythm, and local produce always takes pride of place.

Chasselas de Moissac AOP

A true gem of the terroir, Chasselas de Moissac AOP is a white table grape prized for its golden berries, thin skin, and delicately sweet flavor. Under the late summer sun, the bunches take on a beautiful amber color and develop subtle aromas of honey and flowers.

Harvested at peak ripeness, then sorted and prepared by hand by the Chasselatiers (male and female hunters), it testifies to a demanding expertise. It is naturally enjoyed fresh, but it also elegantly complements cheeses, desserts, and certain savory dishes.

Foie gras and duck specialties

Foie gras holds a special place in the culinary tradition of the Southwest. Served simply with lightly toasted bread, accompanied by onion confit or fruit, it embodies festive meals and moments of sharing.

Duck is also available as magret, confit, gizzards, pâtés, and rillettes . In Tarn-et-Garonne, several farms and artisanal canneries perpetuate these recipes and welcome visitors to discover their craft and products.

🍈 The Quercy Melon

Picked at maturity, the Quercy IGP Melon is appealing for its orange, fragrant and juicy flesh. It heralds the arrival of warmer days and can be enjoyed chilled, as a starter, dessert or accompanied by a local product.

🧄 White Garlic from Lomagne

Cultivated for centuries, Lomagne White Garlic PGI is prized for its aroma and flavor. It enhances stews, pairs wonderfully with duck, and is an ingredient in the traditional garlic soup.

🍎 Orchard fruits

Apples, plums, peaches, nectarines, cherries, strawberries and hazelnuts testify to the agricultural wealth of the department. Freshly picked, transformed into juices, jams or desserts, they bring colour and freshness to local tables.
